Bill Gaither started the Bill Gaither Trio in 1956 while in college. Bill married Gloria in 1962, and they proved to be the perfect songwriting partnership. Bill composed the music, and with Gloria has so far published over 700 gospel songs. They have won 8 Grammy Awards with more than a dozen nominations, and have received over 2 dozen Dove Awards along with their “Songwriter of the Year” award 8 times.
Many top ranking performers have recorded the Gaither’s songs, including Elvis Presley, The Statler Brothers, Sandi Patti, and Carmen.
